This dish is called Tom Yum Kung, Thai hot and sour shrimp soup.
For this soup you need:
Ingredients:
- Water or chicken stock 5 cups
- 250 g shrimps (peeled and cleaned)
- 50 g mushroom
- 4 kaffir lime leaves
- 1 stalk of lemon grass (cut into 3 pieces)
- 5 thin rounds of galangal
- 3 tsp lime juice
- 3 tsp fish sauce
- 3 crushed red chilies
- 2-3 fresh coriander leaves 2-3
- First, bring water or chicken stock to boil until it bubble
- Then, add kaffir lime leaves, lemon grass and galangal and boil for 5 minutes.
- Next, add shrimps and mushroom and boil until shrimps turn in to orange color.
- After that, add fish sauce, red chilies and turn off the heat.
- Then, add lime juice and put coriander leaves on top.
- Finally, Tom Yum Kung is ready to serve hot with rice.
I like Tom Yum Kung, which helps for cold. What is it? Galangal. May be it is very important to bring out the taste for Tom yum kung.
